Gasthaus Hausener Hof
The Hausener Hof is the convivial heart of the small wine village of Hausen, a tranquil district of Bad Dürkheim at the edge of the vines and the fringe of the Palatinate Forest. Set right on the wine trail, the village inn is a popular stop for walkers and cyclists touring along the German Wine Route or heading up into the woods. Regional classics come to the table — Pfälzer Saumagen with sauerkraut, grilled bratwurst, liver dumplings and crispy schnitzel, a hearty Palatinate platter with Handkäs and farmhouse bread, and seasonal dishes such as fresh asparagus in spring or hearty onion tart with new wine in autumn around the harvest. Alongside, the Hausen winegrowers' Rieslings and Pinot Blanc are poured, often as a cool spritzer from the Dubbeglas, and now and then a full-bodied Dornfelder. The shaded courtyard under old trees invites a rest while the vines lie in the sun outside, and makes the Hausener Hof a relaxed, rustic destination for nature lovers, hiking groups, families and anyone who wants a cosy, down-to-earth stop after a tour through the Palatinate Forest.
