Hausen
Hausen is a small, tranquil winegrowing village south of the main town, picturesquely tucked between vineyards and the green fringe of the Palatinate Forest. The Palatinate Wine Trail runs right through the village and climbs from here through the vines into the forest, so pleasure and nature lie close together. In the family-run winery courtyards, the growers pour their own Rieslings, Pinots and wine spritzers and host courtyard festivals and seasonal taverns. Despite its closeness to Bad Dürkheim, Hausen feels like a quiet Palatinate village with short walks into the green. Hikers and cyclists value the village as a relaxed stop between vineyards and the Palatinate Forest. Anyone looking for genuine, unhurried wine-village life will find it here in a laid-back atmosphere.
