Wine tastings, winemakers and the German Wine Route

Bad Dürkheim lies at the heart of the German Wine Route, and wine shapes every slope and every lane here. Around the districts of Ungstein, Leistadt and Seebach stretch renowned vineyards where Riesling above all, but also Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc, come to ripeness. In the family-run wineries and cosy wine taverns you can taste the vintages straight from the grower – ideally as a refreshing Schorle (wine spritzer). The highlight of the wine year is the Dürkheim Wurstmarkt, the largest wine festival in the world, when the whole town comes together in convivial Palatinate spirit.
