Palatinate Forest: new circular hiking trails around Bad Dürkheim signposted
Freshly marked circular routes lead through the Isenach valley, past the Heidenmauer, Teufelsstein and Drachenfels into the heart of the Palatinate Forest.
New circular hiking trails through the Palatinate Forest have been signposted around Bad Dürkheim. The routes connect popular destinations such as the wooded Isenach valley, the Celtic Heidenmauer with the Roman Teufelsstein and the striking Drachenfels into varied tours for families and ambitious hikers. New markings, signposts and information boards make orientation easier in Germany's largest contiguous forest area. From the Limburgberg to the Hardenburg castle ruins, the trails lead through beech and chestnut forests with ever-changing views over the German Wine Route. With this, the town aims to strengthen nature-based tourism and bring the Palatinate Forest closer to guests and locals as a place of recreation. Maps of the new circular routes are available at the tourist information office.
