Isenach Valley & Town Forest

The Isenach valley stretches as a green stream valley from the Hardenburg castle ruins down to the edge of town and is among Bad Dürkheim's most popular local recreation areas. Accompanied by the babbling Isenach brook, largely level, shady paths lead through dense town forest, past old mill sites, small ponds and quiet resting places. Because the path has hardly any gradient, it is well suited to leisurely walks, jogging and families with prams. In spring fresh green glows, in autumn the foliage turns colour — at any time of year the valley offers a cool, nature-rich break. A walk is ideally combined with a tour of the Hardenburg and a stop for refreshments. This is also where the Palatinate Forest begins, beckoning with countless marked hiking trails for longer tours up into the heights.
